From induction through to mandatory training and continuous professional and personal development, all our people receive comprehensive support to understand the behaviours and attitudes expected of them that underpin our core values. Patient safety and customer satisfaction are paramount and we are committed to training and development to ensure that these principles are maintained and developed.
All staff are required to attend or complete online mandatory training in topics such as Information Governance, Health and Safety and Infection Control. Other management related training courses are offered to staff as appropriate to their role in the organisation. For example, a training course for Good Clinical Practice (GCP) has been developed specifically for staff involved in any way with clinical trials or research projects. This is offered to all GSTS employees who come into contact with samples from clinical trials and results in a certificate of completion of training to GCP standards applicable to laboratory staff.
