SE-HMDS Laboratory for Molecular Haemato-Oncology at King's College Hospital
Laboratory overview
The Laboratory for Molecular Haemato-Oncology (LMH), based at King’s College Hospital, specialises in the detection and quantification of molecular markers and abnormalities associated with haematological malignancies. The laboratory supports diagnostic, prognostic, and disease monitoring services as part of the South East Haematological Malignancy Diagnostic Service (SE-HMDS).
We offer a comprehensive range of molecular diagnostic tests for a wide variety of haematology neoplasms, working closely with the other specialist SE-HMDS laboratories to provide a unified genomics testing strategy.
As part of the integrated SE-HMDS report, molecular genomic reports are provided, detailing relevant diagnostic and prognostic findings.
The laboratory is a UKAS accredited medical laboratory (No. 9597) to ISO 15189:2022 and participates in all appropriate EQA schemes.
Key features:
- Committed to excellence with a focus on quality, efficiency, and innovation.
- Aligned with the NHS England Genomics Test Directory.
The laboratory utilises a range of advanced genetic testing methods, including:
- Next Generation Sequencing (NGS)
- Fragment analysis
- Quantitative PCR (qPCR)
- Droplet digital PCR (ddPCR)
- SNP karyotyping
