New non-urgent blood test appointments now available in Southwark and Lambeth
Since falling victim to a cyberattack on 3 June, our laboratories have been running at significantly reduced capacity. That means we had only been able to process critical and urgent blood tests in the last few weeks.
However, we are now able to offer a limited number of important, but non-urgent, blood test appointments to patients in Southwark and Lambeth. You can book these via our online Swiftqueue system here, with new appointments to be added daily.
Please note that laboratory capacity remains limited, so our new appointments are intended for patients whose need is greatest. With that in mind, please only book a blood test if instructed to do so by your GP. That will ensure people who need their results soonest are prioritised.
In the meantime, please be assured we are working around the clock to restore services as quickly and safely as possible. We apologise for any upset or inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding at this challenging time.
What you should do if you need a critical or urgent blood test
If your GP deems your blood test urgent or critical, they should provide you with a test form marked ‘critical’. In this instance, you do not have to make an appointment and should take your form to one of the following clinics, which are open Monday to Friday:
Guy’s Hospital, 4th Floor (7.30am to 12.45pm)
Gracefield Gardens Health & Social Care Centre (8am to 5pm)
Tessa Jowell Health Centre (7.30am to 3.45pm)
All our phlebotomy clinics have now reopened and can accommodate the non-urgent appointments made via Swiftqueue. They are operating Monday to Friday as follows:
St Thomas' Hospital – 07:30 to 18:00 (last patient seen at 17:45)
King's College Hospital (Denmark Hill) – 07:30 to 18:00 (last patient seen at 17:45)
Guy's Hospital – 07:30 to 13:00 (last patient seen at 12:45)
Gracefield Gardens Health & Social Care Centre – 08:00 to 17:00 (last patient seen at 16:45)
Tessa Jowell Health Centre – 07:30 to 16:00 (last patient seen at 15:45)
Evelina London Children's Hospital – 08:00 to 18:00 (last patient seen at 17:45)
