1 May 2024 | Statement re: outcome of UNITE ballot

Following a ballot whereby members were asked to vote regarding strike action, UNITE officials have confirmed they have the support required to proceed to strike. We are obviously disappointed by this outcome, but will endeavour to provide the assurances needed in response to concerns raised by employees and, in so doing, avoid possible strike action.

We recognise the uncertainty that any major change can bring to colleagues affected, and continue to work closely and collaboratively with employees and employee/union representatives to ensure a constructive, ongoing dialogue.

I would like to reassure all our service users that we are planning carefully to ensure that an ongoing service will be maintained in the event of strike action. We will of course keep you updated with further developments.
