What is Swiftqueue?
Swiftqueue is an online booking solution that helps to improve the patient experience.
Swiftqueue has worked with the NHS since 2013 and is used in more than 50 NHS Trusts around the UK. The booking system helps phlebotomy hubs manage patient flow, resulting in reduced wait times and overcrowding.

Swiftqueue is an online booking system that allows patients to book their own blood tests at a convenient time and date. Patients can also view, reschedule and cancel their appointments online. Swiftqueue replaced the ticketing process and therefore all apointments, whether walk in or pre-booked, require a check via the Swiftqueue system.
Swiftqueue enables a more efficient, patient-centred phlebotomy process. It is a reliable and established booking platform that is successful in a range of NHS hospitals and clinics. It also helps to improve the patient experience.
You can make an appointment on behalf of someone else by adding them to your Swiftqueue account. Whilst there are same day appointments available for those who are unable to book online, or who have an urgent blood test request, these are limited and therefore the next available appointment may be the following day.
Synnovis’ friendly phlebotomy team are on hand to support you in making an appointment or, alternatively, you can use a kiosk which are available in phlebotomy clinic waiting areas.
Yes, there is a limited walk-in service or next available appointment option for those who are unable to book online themselves.
Please note, if you do not book online then it is always advisable to check the operational hours of our phlebotomy services to avoid disapointment.
Yes, Swiftqueue allows patients to view, reschedule or cancel appointments online. View and manage your appointments by logging in to your account online and clicking My Appointments.
We will be holding a number of same day walk in slots each day for patients who need to be bled urgently. Your GP should mark your blood test form as urgent by indicating this in the priority box. We are unable to accept any forms were the urgency criteria is handwritten on the form.
When registering for a Swiftqueue account via the website/or mobile app, your email is a mandatory requirement. This is so notifications of the appointment can be sent to a patient. All other fields do require completion, but the option to add a pseudonym is available. Your gender can also be entered as unknown (if you wish to protect your personal details).
If a patient opted not to register because of this, they could still attend a walk-in without having to enter any personal information into Swiftqueue. This would also allow you to use a number instead of a name upon arrival.

A same day walk in appointment is a supplementary service, offered by the department to accommodate patients who are unable to use the Swiftqueue booking system ahead of their blood test.
Synnovis’ friendly phlebotomy team are on hand to support you and to help make you the next available appointment. Alternatively, you can use a kiosk, which are available in phlebotomy clinic waiting areas. Please be aware that there are a limited number of appointments reserved for the same day, so the next available appointment may be the next day.
The department will always offer you the next available appointment, depending on your time of arrival. However, there is no guarantee this will be on the same day of arrival.
There are limited numbers of same day appointments reserved for patients who require urgent blood tests and cannot use the booking system without support.
Unfortunately, the phlebotomy team are unable to print forms from your GP. It is therefore important to have your original Tquest or blood request form with you when you arrive.
Without this, the team are unable to confirm patient identification or required tests needed to proceed with your blood test.
