AST:platelet ratio index (APRI)

The AST:platelet ratio index (APRI) is used to predict cirrhosis.

Clinical details: 
The APRI is calculated in the laboratory using the following equation.
NB. 49 IU/L is the upper limit of the reference range for AST:
APRI = (AST / 49) x Platelet count
