Clinical details:
The five and seven carbon vitamin K metabolites are experimental markers thought to represent total vitamin K status i.e. derived from all forms of vitamin K. They have been successfully employed in various areas of research including; vitamin K prophylaxis in neonates, conversion of vitamin K1 to dihydro-vitamin K1 in foods and vitamin E and vitamin K interactions.
