St Thomas’ ESL delivers rapid respiratory virus testing using the Cepheid GeneXpert system, providing qualitative detection of Influenza A, Influenza B, RSV and SARS‑CoV‑2. The site also contributes to advanced respiratory metagenomics, enabling broad pathogen detection through Oxford Nanopore sequencing. Specialist viral load, genotyping and molecular assays are provided by the Hub.
