Diagnostic Immunology and Allergy Department

Established in the early 1970s, our laboratory is one of the most experienced diagnostic immunology laboratories in the UK. We offer a comprehensive clinical and laboratory service.

We receive referrals from the South East Thames, Kent, Sussex and Dorset areas. Clinical research in the Department is underpinned by close links with basic sciences and the Schools of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of King's College London.

We are housed in newly refurbished, first class diagnostic and research facilities. An average of 50 000 tests are processed per annum by the laboratory which participates in all quality assurance schemes available within the UK NEQAS schemes.

We have strong links with the Liver Institute at King's College Hospital, where our laboratories have been closely involved in developing a number of diagnostic tests. We also have close links with the Diabetes Centre, both clinically and in terms of basic scientific research.
