Description:
Qualititative chemiluminescent immuno-assay (CLIA) for Measles virus IgG antibody testing. Used to determine measles susceptibility in pregnant women and immunocompromised individuals following possible measles exposure, or to assess need for MMR vaccine in health care workers and other vaccine candidates. This assay is available routinely Mon to Fri.

Clinical details:
- Post possible measles exposure to assess susceptibility and need for post-exposure prophylaxis. For individiuals at risk of severe measles - pregnant; immunocompromised - and without a reliable history of vaccination.
- Assess need for MMR vaccine in health care workers and other vaccine candidates.

Storage and transport:
Place labelled sample in a sealed sample bag and send to Central Specimen Reception (CSR). To prevent sample haemolysis please store samples in refrigerator if a delay in sending samples to CSR is unavoidable.
