We also offer specialist tests to the UK through the UK Genetics Testing Network (UKGTN), and to many clinical services overseas.
South East Genomic Laboratory Hub (SEGLH)
The Synnovis Genetics Laboratory is the hub of the South East Genomics Laboratory network.
NHS England have reconfigured genetic laboratory services and commissioned 7 national Genomic Laboratory Hubs (GLH). The South East GLH, a network of leading foundation trusts and pathology providers has been commissioned to deliver all genomic testing services across South London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex. More information about the NHSE South East Genomic Medicine Service Alliance (GMSA) and GLH can be at the link below.

NHS England Indicated Target Reporting Times
NHS England (NHSE) have indicated the target test reporting times, and these together with current Average Turnaround Times can be found at: Service Turnaround Times - South East Genomics : South East Genomics
The Genomics Centre:
- Delivers an integrated service consisting of Guy's and St Thomas' Clinical Genetics department (where clinical advice can be obtained, telephone 020 7188 1364 or refer to the Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospital website) and Synnovis Genetics Laboratory (Molecular Genetics, Cytogenetics, Biochemical Genetics, Oncology Cytogenetics, Molecular Oncology Unit and Pre-implantation Genetics Diagnosis.
- Serves an estimated population of 8 million across South East England, including South London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex..
Our comprehensive range of genomic assays includes tests for inherited and congenital disorders; acquired and inherited cancers; chromosome instability syndromes; and pre-implantation genetic diagnosis.
Only PGD for haplotype approach using STR microsatellite markers is covered by the flexible scope. Accredited results cannot be issued until the validation and authorisation of new tests has been completed.
